Skipping breakfast might mean danger
Happy Monday. Today’s top story might make you rethink skipping breakfast. Plus, we’ve got A.I. cameras writing tickets, robotaxis cruising Vegas, and a truly feral airplane record you have to see to believe.

A body that doesn’t want to eat in the morning might not be in great shape.
If you’re holding off on breakfast because you’re trying to squeeze into your favorite jeans, that’s intermittent fasting. If you find yourself eating later in the day without planning to, that’s chrononutrition* and researchers say it could be a warning sign.
Mark Wales shares a new study in Communications Medicine that followed nearly 3,000 older adults in the U.K. and found that people who drifted toward later breakfasts weren’t just making a lifestyle choice. Their eating patterns often reflected underlying health issues and even a higher risk of death. So my mom was right… breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day.
The takeaway? Choosing to skip breakfast might be one thing, but if your body’s skipping breakfast for you, it might be waving a quiet “check engine” light.

In 1958, pilots Robert Timm and John Cook flew this modified Cessna 172 for a record-setting 64 days and nights without landing. DAYS, not hours, an endurance feat that has never been broken.

We don’t know if the kids are alright, but the bottom line at the A.I. company is probably doing just fine.
Well, isn’t this a muddy story?
On the one hand, we have child safety. And when one hand is child safety, we usually don’t bother looking in the other. But maybe we should.
Because the other hand is waving a fat stack of traffic tickets issued by A.I., collected by a private company with a 60% cut of the fine, plus a $100K monthly tech fee. In Maryland alone, that added up to millions, even though nearly two-thirds of citations got tossed on appeal.
Erik Barnes breaks down how a company called BusPatrol landed on school buses across the U.S., and whether this tech is actually keeping kids safe... or just cashing in on parental panic.
And it goes 75mph... backwards. Possibly an essential feature in Vegas.
According to one study, 93% of people think they are better than average drivers. As the kids say, the math ain’t mathing. (They still say that, right?) So what are we to make of a driverless car that claims to drive better than that?
Amazon’s robotaxi startup Zoox has just unleashed its adorable, steering-wheel-free shuttles on the Vegas Strip. These futuristic boxes-on-wheels are more lounge than car. Two rows of seats facing each other, no pedals, no driver, and yes, they can hit 75mph... in reverse.
As Amy Lamare reports, Zoox isn’t repurposing old sedans like Waymo or Tesla. This is a ground-up rethink of what a car could be, complete with crab steering, 360-degree sensors, mood lighting, and built-in wireless charging.
Right now, rides are free and limited to five key drop-offs. Once regulators say yes, Zoox plans to scale (and charge). Until then, it's a very chill way to cruise the Strip, no backseat driver needed.

And what did we learn?
We have a weekend’s worth of results to share.
On Friday, we shared date ideas that don’t cost a dime and asked how your finances were when you were affianced. The verdict?
46.67% of GOOD readers say they were doing OK money-wise, but there was a lot of BOGO dating.
On Saturday, I learned how to type an accented é, and we shared a video of Beyoncé killing a Kings of Leon cover. We asked where she should aim her considerable talents next.
Over 60% of GOOD readers want to see her take on Jazz, and I know this was a poll, not a quiz, but… that is the right answer.
On Sunday, we shared five magic parenting ‘spells’ and asked you how you thought they’d work.
57.89% of readers thought these approaches were “fine tools to add to the toolbox”. But I think it’s fun that almost a quarter of you admitted that an iPad raised your kids. Love it!
